Dedicated to Fun, Friendship and Frivolity

A Sock Hop Luncheon
hosted by
Jill Hake, Debbie
Russell, Marjean Hill
and QM Beth
at the Confluence Park Restaurant
was the spot for yet another festive
get together.

The committee did a wonderful job
transforming the south ballroom
back to a time 50 years ago when
poodle skirts, rolled up jeans and
bobby socks were the "in" fashion
with wonderful decorations of soda
shops, records and blow-up
guitars.

What fun to see everyone that
came in costume, what a hoot, we
had some really original poodle
skirts and of course
Trish was
gorgeous, dressed as a 50’s Anna
White ( Vanna White’s
mischievous sister!!)
Marjean
gave a lovely prayer before our
buffet lunch.  Can you believe that
we had the same wait staff as we
had last year?  When they found
out we were coming, the asked to
be assigned to us.  How neat is
that?

After a lovely buffet was served, we
started the fun and games, our first
game was invented for me by
Jenene, it was a mix of the Price is
Right and Let's Make a Deal, the
Gadabout version was called “The
Price is Nice” and “Let’s Make a
Steal”.  Six lucky Gadabouts or
Gadabout guests got a chance to
price and win prizes and then were
given the opportunity to trade for
what was in 1 of 6 mystery bags.  It
was great fun and some lovely
prizes were won along with some
booby prizes of a dinosaur and a
rubber chicken!!   Special thanks to
Trish and Marjean for helping
make this such a fun and
successful fun event.

Our entertainer, Michael Rose
helped us celebrate our November
birthdays by singing Happy
Birthday to
Jean Jay, Debbie
Russell
and our soon to be 94 year
old
Anne Odhe.  Anne was
presented a special award, the
energizer Bunny award to
commemorate her special year
with a poster signed by everyone
present showing our dear Anne in
her darling “Energizer Bunny”
costume from our Halloween party.
A special thanks to Trish, our
Birthday Belle for furnishing a
delicious chocolate cake to add to
the festivities.

Jill Hake prepared a fun game of
guessing what certain items cost
back in the 1950’s.
Lots and lots of door prizes were
awarded, in fact everyone went
home a winner!

Michael Rose did a great job
entertaining us with lots of 50’s
music and we danced and danced
and even learned to do the “Stroll”
along with some of our wait staff.
He was just great and he made
sure to go to each lady and sing to
her, so very sweet!  I am sure that
everyone really enjoyed the show!
A very special Thank You to
Marjean, Deb and Jill for all their
help, generosity  and suggestions,
we all worked very hard to make
this a very special day, it was for
me, for sure!

Hugs,
QM Beth
