Kathy and Jackie had the
"Luck 'o' the Irish" posing
with Harry, our server, and
leprechaun for the night!
St Patrick’s Day Limericks
by Beth Skelding

There once was a shamrock named Jane
Who tripped on some wine and went lame,

She ripped her best leaf
And sobbed in her grief
And now has to walk with a cane.

Our Carol is a wearin’ the green
She fits right in with this scene.
She’s lovely and cute
In her high heeled boots
And she’s learning the ropes as new
Queen.

Jenene is a sweet leprechaun fairy
Her mood is quite happy and airy
She’s talented and sweet
Nice to each person she meets
And she makes the Gadabouts merry.

The Gadabout Gals are a hoot
When wearing their hats they are cute
Some of us wiggle
We laugh and we giggle
There’s never a time when we’re mute.

Happy Birthday, Kathy Kline and
Jackie Roberts

When Kath’s and Jack’s estrogen goes
where it dares
To give her the odd, stray grey chin hairs
And crows’ feet as well
Ain’t menopause hell?
Here’s hoping you’ve talents elsewheres!

"Maxine" by Jenene

There once was a grouch named Maxine
Who tooted and made quite a scene
And after each lunch
With her Red Hat bunch
She giggled and squawked,
"It's the beans!!!"
We were all decked out in our finest
green apparel!  What a hoot.  The
restaurant was perfect and the food
was delicious! We practically had the
place all to ourselves , with very little
background noise, so we were able to
visit with one another.  Our hostesses,
Carol and Jackie, had the tables
decorated so cute. I just wanted to
take all those Irish Bears home with
me, they were adorable!!!!  (Jackie
works at Build a Bear!)

We played a word game (crossword
puzzle, Irish theme of course), had our
raffle (thank you, Sandy!) and Jane
presented roses to the gals who had
the most Irish heritage.  They were
Kathy Klein, Jackie Roberts and Sandy
Maxim, and our server had some Irish
in him as well.   He was great! Look for
the photo with him on the
Making Merry
at Mac's page.  Beth, Carol and Jenene
recited limericks they'd written with
some of our members in mind.

Carol brought another friend as a
guest, Nancy Collins,
who may be interested in joining our
group.

We also enjoyed delicious birthday
cakes from Der Dutchman provided by
our QM Jane. MMMMMmmmmmmmm
GOOD!   DELICIOUS!
The pistachio green/ pineapple frosting
really hit the spot on that angel food
cake.  I think that is the best angel food
cake I have ever tasted!  And I never
knew there were other flavors of angel
food cake????   Raspberry- who'd a
thunk?  Delicious as well!!   Thank you,
Jane.

Well, my fellow Gadabouts , I am
itching to get out and dig in the dirt and
help mom get her pansies planted this
afternoon before the rain sets in so I
will close for now- looking forward to
seeing all of you next time.

Meanwhile, Smile it's Spring.  Stay well
and happy,
Hugs,
Debbie R.
