Charting our Future Course at Louie's -
Hilliard, January 21, 2010
Hello Ladies,
Well, The Gadabout Gals are off and running in the New Year 2010!
17 of us braved the rain and met at a new little place called "Louie's" in Hilliard. We
missed all of you who weren't able to be with us. We had a whole section just to
ourselves, enjoyed lots of good Mexican food and fellowship and celebrated our January
"Birthday Girl" Beth. I was very pleased that so many of you enjoyed the spice cake!
Then we got down to business to discuss the future of our group. Votes were cast and it
has been decided that the group will continue to be a part of the "Red Hat Society" and
each of us will pay $20.00 annual dues plus the $10.00 annual Gadabout membership
dues. Please submit your dues to our treasurer, Beth.
We also voted to keep the size of the group limited to 30 members. We are currently at 24
and this allows room for prospective guests who may want to join us. The calendar was
passed around for signing up to host a month if you wish. Contact me if you want to sign
up to provide cake for any month. If not, I love baking and will be happy to provide the
birthday dessert.
Our new Co-Queen Carol is in charge of the calendar, so contact her for more
information, and then Jenene will post everything on the site to remind us of the schedule.
(see calendar below) Also, if at any time you come up with a fun thing to do on a Saturday
and want to plan an outing for the group, please feel free. We aren't limited to just the
once-a-month dinners and are open to any opportunities to share fun and friendship.
Many of you expressed an interest in attending a Tea at the Kelton House on Saturday,
November 6, so Jane will be setting that up and fill us in on more details closer to
November. This event will feature not only a "Light Tea" and a chance to dress in our finery
that afternoon, but also a tour of the Historic Kelton House building and a short play/ show
of the working of the Underground Railroad, all for a mere price of $18.00. So mark your
calendars and stay tuned for more details.
We added $17.00 to our treasury form the raffle. Prizes were donated by Sherrie, Beth and
Debbie, and our winners were Sandy, Sherrie, Ellen Marie, Kathy, Carolyn, Abbi and
Ginger.
