Dedicated to Fun, Friendship and Frivolity
Dear Red Hat Sisters,

On February 21st, twenty Gadabouts met for an evening of friendship and fun at the
China Dynasty on State Route 161.  Hosts for the evening were Jenene and Beth.

The evening started early at 5:30 pm instead of 6:00 pm because of the threat of bad weather.  Yikes, I guess we should have started about 4:00 pm, as it was still quite the
exciting drive home on slippery roads!!  While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, chopsticks and a bowl of conversation hearts were passed around the tables and each
person had 30 seconds to remove as many hearts as possible using only the chopsticks.  Our winner of that contest was
Karen Geels with 14 hearts removed; she won a
Valentine-themed gift.

After our waiters took the last order, we played a memory game.  A tray was passed around and each lady had about 30 seconds to look at the tray loaded with lots of Valentine
items and then had to try to list them.
Trish won Valentine towels and hot pads for her excellent memory.  Sandy was busy selling raffle tickets for prizes donated by Jean Jay, a
beautiful purple jacket, won by
Barbara and a cute birdhouse won by Trish.  The raffle raised $24 for our treasury.

Prancy Nancy was awarded to
Karen Geels for her 65% increase in steps from the previous month.  The contest is officially over and the Gadabouts finished in 9th place out of
21 teams walking. Our beautiful Bodacious Babe, sporting a pair of wings, was awarded to
Carolyn Curry for her bodacious behavior.  She surprised us with a visit from a Santa’
s helper to give out our Christmas gifts at our December party.  Our February Birthday Girls,
Trish L., Carol B. and Deb K. were surprised and delighted with several guests’
appearances.  The first was the “newest singing sensations,” a group called the 3 Bitchin’ Babes (
Abbi, Marjean, and Beth) who entertained with their own version of “Oh No,” a
song about forgetfulness.

After all the cheering and applause subsided, who should appear but
Maxine (our own Jenene Warmbier)!  Maxine had lots of advice for us about forgetfulness and old age,
telling us that instead of Hattitude that we are all so proud of, she wanted us to get CRABITUDE!   She had more funny one-liners than Don Rickels, and when she shook her
“booty” and started pulling out “Crabby-Grams.” You never heard such laughing!  Everyone who received a Crabby-Gram got to stand up and read it.  What a hoot!

Many thanks to
Sherrie Kass-Roth for furnishing the delicious birthday cake!
Our winners of the “Best Valentine-decorated Hat” were:
Carol Beal, 1st place, Abbi Menke, 2nd place, and Alena Wein, 3rd place, Thank you, ladies.  Your hats were beautiful!

What a wonderful evening of fun and excitement!

Hugs,
QM Beth
