Parrot Head Party at Cheeseburger in Paradise

Dear Red Hat Sisters,
Another great evening of fun and friendship at one of our favorite places
"Cheeseburger in Paradise". Sixteen Gadabouts and two guests arrived for our 4th
annual Parrothead Party in wonderful hats and beach attire which added to the
festive atmosphere at the restaurant.
It was a pleasant spring evening and we enjoyed sitting on their enclosed patio.
Welcome back from Mexico, Josie. We missed you this winter!
A big Thank you to Kathy Klein for her help with organizing this event and the cute
table decorations of blow up fish and cute little mesh bags of shell macaroni for our
bingo game.
The fun began as QM Beth passed out a little personality quiz for each person to
take. After each person completed the quiz,she was told what movie star she was
most like and then we introduced ourselves and told which celebrity we were. It
was amazing how many Debbie Reynolds and Katherine Hepburns we have in our
group!
When we finished our delicious entrees, we played several games of "Picture
Bingo." Our winners were Alena (she won twice), Connie, Deb K. and Donna.
Many thanks to Karen Geels for supplying us with a delicious chocolate birthday
cake for our birthday girls Alena, Abbi and Sandy and another very "Happy Birthday"
to our special girls. They each received a gift of a daisy flower kit to plant and enjoy
this summer.
Our winner of our first 50/50 raffle was Abbi Menke and we added $11.50 to our
treasury. Thanks, ladies!
The winner of our "Best in Show" hat was Linda Bush, sporting a lovely hat
decorated with lots of parrots and other tropical decorations. Other winners of the
hat contest were, Alena, Jane and Sandy.
We enjoyed listening to the music of Jed Demlow and he jumped at the chance for
some fun and invited our group up front to accompany him in singing Margaritaville
to entertain the whole restaurant with a "classic" version of the famous Jimmy Buffet
song! What fun!!!

Margaritaville Merriment - April 16,2009
Dear Red Hat Sisters,
We had a special guest visiting from California, Sandy’s sister, Loretta. She is also a member
of a Red Hat group and it was so nice that she was able to join us. Anne and Beverly donned
their very cute “Cheeseburger” hats. What a hoot and the rest of us wore varied tropical
decorated hats. A little girl from another table was enthralled by our festive hats and came over
to say hello- we shared some bubbles and a pretty lei with her, she was cute, cute, cute!
We have a new addition to our birthday celebrations; Sherrie, found a singing bear that sings,
“Happy Birthday” in a child’s voice! She is adorable and I will try to name her by our next dinner.
Thank you Sherrie. We sang our traditional kazoo rendition and enjoyed birthday cupcakes for
our birthday girls this month, Alena, Abbi and Sandy. And another very “Happy Birthday” to our
special girls. We collected $8.00 from the raffle. Thank you ladies and many thanks to Abbi for
donating the prizes. Our winners were, Sherri and our guest, Loretta!
Well ladies, I think that wraps it up for tonight. I am going to be dreaming of “Margaritaville” and
those tropical breezes! Wishing you all sweet dreams as well.
