Perfect Picnicking on Lazy Daze of Summer,
June 16, 2009
Well ladies, I hope you are all enjoying these lazy daze of summer and
many thanks to
Carol, Nancy and Beth for planning our picnic!

Our picnic at Blacklick Park on the 16th turned out to be the perfect
evening. It was so much fun. We couldn't have asked for better weather
and had a terrific turnout of 15 Gadabouts and four guests. As it turned out
two of the guests were a daughter and a mother so we had four mother-
daughter pairs present:
Anne and  Beverly, Trish and Doris, Carolyn and
Jill, and Debbie R. and Jill !

We were in a beautiful picnic grove with a wonderful breeze and Beth was
our master chef at grillling the burgers to perfection. We had many
delicious casseroles and salads and brownies and all our cold dishes
were displayed in "the pool" of ice. How fun was that!  We do know how to
put on a good spread at our get-togethers.

The tables were adorned with real tablecloths and huge vases of cut
flowers from Carol's garden. We each had a packet of larkspur seeds at
each place setting as a treat. Very relaxing and we all had a chance to get
to know each other better when playing a game of "Opposites". You had to
find your "opposite" partner and ask them questions to find out unknown
info about that person.  Then we all shared what we had learned about
each other with the whole group. It was great fun and we learned quite a
bit about our fellow sisters and guests.

We collected $18 from the raffle with 9 prizes donated by
Nancy, Beth,
Sherrie
and Carol.  Our winners were Beth, Carolyn and her daughter
Jill, Trish, Carol, Josie, Bonnie
and Sandy.
Our July birthday girl, Jane was away visiting her son in California. I hope
many of you were able to send her birthday wishes, and a big thanks to all
of you camera bugs who filled in for the camera queen in her absence.

I will forward some pictures to you that Beth passed on and maybe the
rest of you could forward your pics onto Jenene so she can add them to
the website. Thank you, THANK YOU,  thank you.
I hope you all enjoyed this evening as much as I did. It was such a nice
change of pace!
Again,Thank you ladies for planning this wonderful evening.

Until next time, Debbie
Fellowship and Friendship at Montgomery Inn -
May 19, 2009
Greetings, Ladies,

Hope you all enjoyed a long relaxing weekend and were able to celebrate
Memorial Day today by counting your blessings and honoring all those who
have sacrificed to secure our freedom.  God Bless America.

On Thursday, May 21st, 15 Gadabouts braved the heat and traffic to meet
at the newly opened Montgomery Inn in Dublin.  Our group was seated in
the lovely outdoor area, right next to another Red Hat group from
Marysville!  What a hoot.  There were also two tables of Red Hat husbands
seated near us that were enjoying themselves as well. Several of us had a
bit of trouble finding the restaurant, as it is nestled back in a new complex
of buildings on the hill down from the LaScala restaurant and there was no
signage to give you a clue as to where it was located. At any rate, we
finally all gathered, it was so good to see everyone, and
Ellen Marie was
up to joining us this time! We also had a guest join us. Some of you may
remember
Jane's elderly friend, Marguerite.  Well she has passed away and
her daughter, Joanne was Jane's guest for the evening.

We all enjoyed our meals (finally - as we were starved and the service
wasn't so great) but the wonderful fellowship made up for all that.  Josie
was our "Birthday Girl" and we enjoyed a delicious cake provided by
Sherrie.

Sherrie also provided several items for our raffle and
Beverly and Joanne,
our guest,
won the prizes!  $16 was collected and added to the treasury. Thank you
ladies for contributing.

Several of our members were not able to join us due to health issues so
please keep them in your prayers-Linda and Jean's husband).  Our next
dinner will be June 18 at the Outback Steakhouse at 6000 East Main
Street. And stay tuned to the website for pictures -
Jane does such a
good job capturing our activities!

Hugs,
Debbie R.
